How to Care for your Jewelry
How to care for your clay Jewelry and components.
Polymer clay is a durable yet porous material. Though these earring can be wet with a damp cloth for cleaning, it is recommended that that your jewelry is not submerged in water and as such should be removed prior to swimming and/or soaking. If your jewelry becomes wet simply dry it quickly afterwards. Please avoid using harsh cleaners, chemicals, oils, lotions or other substances on your jewelry. If your jewelry does NOT contain inclusions or sealers it may be cleaned with a small amount of acetone. However soaking or allowing large amounts of acetone onto your jewelry can create distortion and will break down sealants if present. If your jewelry is sealed with epoxy or resin please especially avoid contact with vinegar. Gold plated hardware is tarnish resist but not tarnished proof. If your item is plated and not gold filled it is more important to avoid saturating with water and other liquids to prolong the integrity of your hardware. dry immediately if wet. Any brass components maybe be cleaned with lemon juice or baking soda paste but please avoid these substances interacting with the clay body. Do not leave your jewelry in extreme heat and avoid storing in cars and humid environments such as bathrooms. it is also not recommended to sleep in you jewelry.
